96239b3648 Two possible bugfixes in bb2diaspora.php. 
I have found two suspicious parts and tried to correct them. I have no
diaspora enabled hubs and I am also not sure what influence these two
changes will have:
$unset($item['author']) ==> unset($item['author']);
if(cnt) ==> if($cnt)
Before merging can someone with diaspora contacts test this.

7af012b1f9 The random bad signatures are because something somewhere is trimming the body text. It could be any one of hundreds of functions that touch the message body. We really want to trim the body text, so I'm putting back all the trim statements - in mod/item and item_store and item_store_update. The last fix for random bad sigs noted that one of the trims wasn't there, so the others were removed. The correct fix is for all the trims to be there. We will probably have a few (quite a few) bad sigs during the transition back to trimmed text but this should nail it for anybody on recent code and with new content. 2015-03-17 00:13:47 -07:00

b76cdf82d2 create terms for Diaspora mention tags - which in Diaspora are handled differently than other tag links and have to be done separately; they aren't processed by linkify_tags which handles all of our other tag processing. Also move the abook_channel clause in mod_network to the join statement. This works fine in mysql and achievies the desired result. b3a9a6c802 remove the now redundant audio/video buttons and label the editor text style buttons which didn't have them. Unused editor buttons were commented in case we need to bring them back. 5b35f1e6c4 Change logic of "don't create a status post for this photo upload" and turn it into a bona-fide on/off toggle. This takes up one more vertical line, but we have it to spare, and the single button (while concise visually) provided no feedback of the current state, or indicate whether a second click toggled it. Check if post_photos permission is available otherwise hide the photo
upload button.
Or should we show the button and just disable it with a title, about
missing permission to upload photos?
In comments we use the same icon, but just add [img] bb-code. Should we
provide this if no permission to upload photos. Do we need different
icons for [img] and photo upload buttons?

b5683bfac4 change default affinity (abook_closeness) to 80 for all new connections going forward (was 99). This way it can be adjusted down later without requiring you to change all your existing connections upward (since your existing connections are likely all sitting at 99 at the moment). 480dac1af2 add reddress to profile - but all is not as it seems. Copy to clipboard is blocked because it isn't really a reddress and won't work if you copy it and try and use it somewhere. We should really convert the symbol back to '@' on copy and allow it to be copied, but this isn't as easy as it sounds and is left as an exercise for the community. If we just allow it to be copied we'll get a lot of bugs that making friends doesn't work. It does, but that isn't a legitimate reddress and even if we made allowances for it, Diaspora and Friendica and other webfinger based services wouldn't and would just say it can't be found or it's an illegal address. So if we block copy we'll just get bugs that it can't be copied. Eventually somebody will see this checkin and take it on themselves to figure out how to fix the address when copied to clipboard and then allow it to be copied. 2ea162136e the link icon on comments now calls the link parsing tool (just like the main editor window). Eventually the link specific icons (image, link, audio, video) will all be handled by inserting a link using the link icon (here and in the main editor window) and the separate buttons will go away. We also need to tie this to oembed so that there's one place to insert a link - no matter what kind of link it is, and we'll try to find the best way to render that as content. Similarly upload will upload content, no matter what kind of content; and we'll likewise try and figure out the best way to present whatever content was uploaded (img, file, audio, video, whatever). 2015-03-04 20:00:54 -08:00

410f3335a9 parse_url: if url returns an image/audio/video file instead of a webpage, return the bbcode for the appropriate content type. This results in two web fetches of the url in question, but the first one is just a HEAD. This way we won't try and download and parse an entire video. b32841e2dd Found the cause of the delete looping, and I can prevent it going forward. The issue remains what to do about comments which are already in the DB and have ITEM_ORIGIN incorrectly set. We can't exactly reset them because the "original" context has been lost. (Sorry but couldn't resist an insider pun that none of you will be able to follow anyway). 1a071ea4f0 call post_local hooks prior to storing a post that is going to be sourced. There are some fields in the actual stored item that may change when we start the second delivery chain so a few plugins may not deal with these items correctly. ca8e221018 normalize age data 
mysql has type tinyint(3) which probably turns into a 24-bit value, but
postgres uses 3-digit decimal as its constraint (probably what the mysql
schema was intended to do). either that or mysql silently truncates while
postgres respects the constraint. Either way, bad data gets in unchecked, now
it's checked.

da2349bb6a provide relief to sites that are severely impacted by the slow ITEM_UNSEEN searches. This does not incorporate any other flag optimisations as that will require a major DB update and possibly involve significant downtime. 3988948516 first cut at rating widget. The flaw is that it is limited because it requires local_channel() (formerly local_user()). b1a92d620e two tracks proceeding in parallel - first adding the ability to store a digital signature with ratings so that directories can pass them around, second provide some directory registration functions so we can obtain a list of directories from somewhere (to pass ratings around between them). db1998e0c8 limit the number of forums that can be tagged in a single post - default is 2. The reason is simple - count how many posts would be in transit simultaneously if this was unlimited and somebody tagged 40-50 forums. In practice when used legitimately - we've rarely seen more than two, in fact I don't recall seeing more than two ever. Typically it is one and occasionally two. Changing the default is tricky - a client system cannot do it, but the site hosting a forum can choose to. 2f4ef7660c improved route mismatch detection. We will be less strict about the absolute route matching and only look at the last hop before it got to us - which is ultimately all we should care about (since that sender controls the thread permissions). Route mismatches seem to occur somewhat frequently from yamkote (for unknown reasons), and the logging has been improved a bit so it should provide some slightly more useful debugging info in case it still happens going forward. Oh, also we'll set the parent on comments when we store the initial post (item_store()) and only go back and set the parent for top-level posts. This should reduce the number of comments with missing parents on shared hosts, but may increase the number of missing threads. Probably worthwhile to do a query occasionally for parent = 0 and see how we're doing and how many have shared host related delivery issues. 2015-01-27 15:47:24 -08:00

The main motivation for this is when saving images one doesn't
need to inspect and manually input the file's actual name.

There might be other benefits, perhaps in automated downloads.

89a2012f7f remove all hardwired references to 'cloud' in the files interfaces and replace with $a->module. It's OK to leave them in the RedBrowser component because this will remain under /cloud. cdc52ba884 change deletion behaviour of linked photo items. Previously deleting the visible item in the conversation deleted the photo as well. Now photos must be deleted in the photos module. Deleting the linked item removes any attached conversation elements (likes, etc.) and sets the conversation item to hidden. This may create an issue in the future if we move the photo tags, title, or other photo elements to the linked item rather than the photo. 7bee4e5997 build a channel based thread viewing link when in list_mode and when using the channel module, which will disable list_mode (this was checked in yesterday) for the benefit of viewing threads with the correct identities and comment permissions instead of relying on the semi-random uid chosen by mod/display when viewed by an authenticated remote_user(). 2014-12-16 14:12:40 -08:00

17e27d0d87 add Thomas's Diaspora repair script as include/fixd.php - altered so it can be re-run if necessary with a count of remaining hublocs to be fixed. Some sites are down so it probably can't ever get to zero. The check for a null join is quite an expensive query. It could block your DB for a couple minutes while it runs. 
Also some preliminary work on a means to take the channel module out of list/forum mode if a specific mid is requested.

There were 11 main types of changes:
- UPDATE's and DELETE's sometimes had LIMIT 1 at the end of them. This is not only non-compliant but
it would certainly not do what whoever wrote it thought it would. It is likely this mistake was just
copied from Friendica. All of these instances, the LIMIT 1 was simply removed.
- Bitwise operations (and even some non-zero int checks) erroneously rely on MySQL implicit
integer-boolean conversion in the WHERE clauses. This is non-compliant (and bad programming practice
to boot). Proper explicit boolean conversions were added. New queries should use proper conventions.
- MySQL has a different operator for bitwise XOR than postgres. Rather than add yet another dba_
func, I converted them to "& ~" ("AND NOT") when turning off, and "|" ("OR") when turning on. There
were no true toggles (XOR). New queries should refrain from using XOR when not necessary.
- There are several fields which the schema has marked as NOT NULL, but the inserts don't specify
them. The reason this works is because mysql totally ignores the constraint and adds an empty text
default automatically. Again, non-compliant, obviously. In these cases a default of empty text was
added.
- Several statements rely on a non-standard MySQL feature
(http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/group-by-handling.html). These queries can all be rewritten
to be standards compliant. Interestingly enough, the newly rewritten standards compliant queries run
a zillion times faster, even on MySQL.
- A couple of function/operator name translations were needed (RAND/RANDOM, GROUP_CONCAT/STRING_AGG,
UTC_NOW, REGEXP/~, ^/#) -- assist functions added in the dba_
- INTERVALs: postgres requires quotes around the value, mysql requires that there are not quotes
around the value -- assist functions added in the dba_
- NULL_DATE's -- Postgres does not allow the invalid date '0000-00-00 00:00:00' (there is no such
thing as year 0 or month 0 or day 0). We use '0001-01-01 00:00:00' for postgres. Conversions are
handled in Zot/item packets automagically by quoting all dates with dbescdate().
- char(##) specifications in the schema creates fields with blank spaces that aren't trimmed in the
code. MySQL apparently treats char(##) as varchar(##), again, non-compliant. Since postgres works
better with text fields anyway, this ball of bugs was simply side-stepped by using 'text' datatype
for all text fields in the postgres schema. varchar was used in a couple of places where it actually
seemed appropriate (size constraint), but without rigorously vetting that all of the PHP code
actually validates data, new bugs might come out from under the rug.
- postgres doesn't store nul bytes and a few other non-printables in text fields, even when quoted.
bytea fields were used when storing binary data (photo.data, attach.data). A new dbescbin() function
was added to handle this transparently.
- postgres does not support LIMIT #,# syntax. All databases support LIMIT # OFFSET # syntax.
Statements were updated to be standard.

These changes require corresponding changes in the coding standards. Please review those before
adding any code going forward.

Still on my TODO list:
- remove quotes from non-reserved identifiers and make reserved identifiers use dba func for quoting
- Rewrite search queries for better results (both MySQL and Postgres)

1fbd1a79c7 Provide a way to mark photos as adult and hide them from the default album view. Still need a button or setting to enable "unsafe viewing". This has no effect anywhere but in the album views. They can still be viewed by flipping through the individual photos with 'prev' and 'next'. We probably need a comprehensive strategy for how to deal with n-s-f-w photos in albums so consider this a band-aid which requires additional work and integration with other facilities which access these photos. d5d6158973 ok heads up - potentially destabilising change. I've tried to sort out all the default connection permissions for those who don't have a predefined (or therefore have a "custom") permissions role. Unfortunately this includes most people that were using this software more than a month ago. The real changes are that the SELF address book entry no longer holds "auto-permissions" but instead holds your "default permissions" (if you have a pre-defined role, the defaults will be pulled from the role table). 
The auto permissions have moved to a pconfig (uid.system.autoperms). A DB update will move these settings into their new homes.

What used to be the "Auto-permissions settings" page is now the "default permissions settings" page and a checkbox therein decides whether or not to apply the permissions automatically. A link to this page will only be shown when you have the "custom" role selected.

With luck nobody will notice anything wrong. But at least for the next few days, please review permissions that have been assigned to new connections (either automatically or manually) and make sure they make sense (e.g. they aren't "nothing"). You still need to take action when seeing a message "permissions have changed but not yet submitted" as we always let you review and perhaps adjust the settings _before_ a connection is established (unless you have autoperms turned on).

28a35261db What this checkin does is catch the case where a comment arrived and there's a missing top-level post to match it with. So we'll send a request back to the sender that you've never seen this thread and please send a fresh copy of the entire conversation to date. We could soon have posts in the matrix from different platforms from days gone by, which have been migrated into the modern world. We'll be polite and not deliver these to everybody. However, if someone comments on one of these antique threads we wouldn't be able to see it in our own matrix because we won't have a copy of the parent post. So this rectifies that situation. Be aware that item deletion may need to change to keep "hard deleted" items indefinitely so that they don't keep coming back. 58c692e389 improved wall-to-wall detection for comments so we can handle Diaspora signing and wall-to-wall attribution correctly. 
Do it at the point of submission. This also fixes a potential bug in yesterday's wall-to-wall permission setting,
if it was a local comment to a remote post.

effc8960c3 OK this is important. So read it carefully. 
This checkin implements route matching of comments so that they are only accepted from the same route as the top-level post they are attached to. This way there should be no mis-match of permissions between any posts in the thread. It may not be completely compatible with comments posted in the past (though I've tried to be, there may be some minor issues). In addition it seems that relaying was invoked more often than necessary - especially when a duplicate post arrived which was not processed because the edited time hadn't changed - it still invoked relaying. This fix should improve site performance considerably for comments cross-posted to forums; which got bounced around a bit and delivered redundantly for no reason.

Roll this back *only* if it causes a meltdown or comment loss is "serious" (as in OMG people are dying, make it stop!). If we can get past 24 hours without serious issue we need to get everybody onto this code. There may be some minor comment loss (mostly affecting new comments to older posts or likes of older comments) until the majority of sites have moved to the new code.

It may be difficult or impossible to deliver comments to posts that pre-date the addition of source routes (April 1, 2014) to anybody but the top-level post author at his/her primary hub. We may wish to close comments on these posts, but let's see how we go before doing that.

the vendor namespace?

f19d718631 that's why remove_obsolete_hublocs() isn't telling anybody when it does its thing, I forgot to uncomment the bit that tells everybody after I tested it. I needed extensive testing to make sure we didn't accidentally wipe out all hublocs everywhere. a1b66f56f0 use the more portable encoded_item format for exported items - but with added attributes so we can use it as a reasonably complete item backup. The encoded_item format gives us extended author and owner information in case we need to probe them to bring the entry back. It also contains taxonomy entries. 0350b76d85 some backend work for the remaining missing bits of mod_hubman - this is still a fair ways from being complete and is not ready for prime time. Basically we'll let a channel send out a public message saying "these are my currently approved locations" and anything that isn't in the list will be marked deleted. We'll send out this message when locations change somehow - either through direct personal involvement (hub revoke, change primary, channel import) or during a system rename or "find bad/obsolete hublocs" activity. 7001f41d3d provide a config option to prevent wall uploads (photos and files) from being set to the same ACL as the containing post, and instead are uploaded with public visibility (no ACL). This is to prevent folks on other networks from seeing prohibited signs for things uploaded into a private conversation. It is primarily useful when posting to collections that have mixed folks from red and other networks and an otherwise public (typical) profile. Consequently, these uploads will match your chosen default visibility for photos and storage and not that of the containing conversation item (and is only useful if the default visibility is public). This choice must be explained adequately because it represents a complex series of tradeoffs and side effects. It will reduce complaints from other networks about blocked content, but essentially forces you to use another method (dav or the photos page) if you wish to upload protected files/media. 2014-09-02 21:11:09 -07:00

af45b34ee0 verified that chatroom expire is working, so doing away with the second function to do the same thing. 
If you have a problem with chatroom expiration, check that it was created with cr_expire set to 120 (minutes). Chatrooms created during the first couple of days of the chat feature didn't have this. You can set the DB value manually.

b102986929 greatly simplify consume_feed() - a lot of this was friendica specific and somebody may want to put some of it back in, but we'd be much better off building a zot compatible feed for friendica (hint,hint) - even if it didn't support the other protocol bits. Special purpose feed handlers for things like likes, dislikes, events, and community tags are better handled as zot arrays. We have all those handlers. We just need to pass them a JSON message instead of an XML/Atom message. Handlers for statusnet follow messages are another casualty. 1978500e8f pkcs1 to pkcs8 key conversion - this is a lot easier than parsing ASN.1 DER formats and rebuilding the darn things like we used to do. 50da5bd389 Friendica photo import tool. This will bring in all your photos from the chosen Friendica account and import them into Red. Note that profile photos will also be imported, but will not be scaled for profiles, nor will they be attached to any profiles. They will appear however in your Profile Photos album. Photos that had any access restrictions in Friendica will be made private to only you. Comments and likes, captions, and tags are not transferred, only the actual photos. You will only be able to do this once. If something goes wrong but any photos were imported, a pconfig called frphotos.complete will be set and you'll have to remove it to start over. aacb293f2e Return a correct timestamp when a folder is empty.

5be3ba8436 Fixed a wrong timestamp update when adding a file. 
When a file was uploaded the timestamp of the containing folder
should get updated, but the timestamp of the first file in the
folder was mistakenly updated.
There are some more wrong timestamps, but still looking for the bug.

notifications of permission changes in zot.php.

This assumes that private posts are still restricted to people in
your addressbook. Regardless of your global permissions, a
pending channel won't get private posts, even if the post
only has a deny clause not matching the pending channel.

97a4479513 don't provide a second (actually third counting the navbar) search box on the search page if you've got saved searches turned on. This should solve some problems with duplicate html id's (and save wasn't working anyway). d17768d4e7 change app dropdown to point to apps module (changes nav template). Important: Plugins using the app-menu hook will no longer be accessible from there and may require re-writing to plug into the system apps page. 38301ae1b4 A future "comanche UI" is going to need lists of available building blocks. Some of these are pretty easy to assemble, others are a bit more difficult and will have to go through a registration procedure. This checkin create such a registration procedure for page templates and their associated flavours and their assignable regions. 506ae56385 Better handling of restricted /channel and /profile permissions. We will show the name, profile photo and a 'connect' button if appropriate on these pages regardless of permissions. A blank page makes it difficult for folks to figure out how to connect and if it is their real life friend 'x' or not. It also matches our overall policy (adopted from Facebook's lessons learned) that the channel name and default profile photo are always visible and can't really be blocked without messing up the usability of the entire network. This also makes sure that a connect button can be found somewhere besides the directory - where the entry could be blocked; and avoid somebody having to figure out the webbie and find the link to "follow" (another related issue). 2014-04-14 16:45:16 -07:00

e64ec31a9d add the message-id to delivery reports. This _could_ allow an enterprising developer to collect the delivery reports for a given post and store them in a DB table so that the sender could track and verify where a message had been sent on a web page and verify the success or failure of those attempts without requiring admin access. 9bb7811d74 Discover page: when importing public items, alter the item so that it has the characteristics of one that was sourced by the sys channel instead of just being stored under the sys channel uid. This should allow comments and likes to flow upstream if permissions allow and may fix issue #398. bf1f18e172 Include the entire original item when notifying other channels of deletions as it contains important routing and scope information. Previously we were only sending a couple of critical fields like the message-id, flags, and creation date. The thinking was that it is deleted, let's not resend the deleted contents anywhere. 7e160a7b04 undo one of yesterday's changes - if a channel was deleted we want to mark the hubloc deleted - but not the xchan. The channel might be alive at another hubloc. 6f555c50e1 a bit more work towards issue #395 - cleaning up some cases which were going to the url directly and which weren't going through chanview. Also worth noting - mentions in posts do not go through chanview. Perhaps it is time to kill chanview (except we then cannot implemented a "connected" or "connect" button since we don't have any control over the landing page). For the time being I'm just trying to trap as many of the "visit URL" links as possible and sending them to a common place. ad60e2c566 use parent_mid in the parent query for enotify instead of of the parent id. This should fix the issue with encrypted content in the notification messages (for locally posted replies). 9f54a8f96b Hope I have repaired the channel admin page. 
Channel blocking and deleting was copied from user actions. This was not
done to an end. Hope what I do is enough to enable channel blocking and
deleting the correct way.

On deletion all entities that belong to the channel are deleted. But the
channel itself is just marked as deleted. Do not really understand why
it is done this way.
